To ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit, we recommend you include any queries with your enquiry form so that we can help you plan your time with us.
What should we do when we arrive?
On arrival, please sign in at the reception desk, where one of our staff will help you, and will provide directions to the lunchroom if you have made a booking.
Do all groups have a lunchtime slot?
We have a dedicated space which is bookable between 12.30 and 1 or 1 and 1.30. Please indicate on the enquiry form if you wish to book the lunchroom.
How can the Museum of Zoology support children with additional needs?
We want to provide all members of your group with an enjoyable and inclusive visit. Please inform us prior to your visit if there are children with additional needs in your group. If you have adults supporting children on a 1:1 basis, they should be in addition to the minimum number of required adults (see group size and adult requirements).
The Lower Gallery is accessible by lift. The Mezzanine Gallery can only be reached via the stairs, but an access point is provided, showing the content of the gallery. Accessible toilets are available. Please see our Access information for further details.
What ratio of adults to children is required?
Group | Size | Ratio |
---|---|---|
Early Years and Foundation |
15 | 1 adult to every 4 children |
KS1/2 | 32 | 1 adult to every 6 children |
KS3/4/Post 16 | 40 | 1 adult to every 15 children |
Any adults needed to support children on 1:1 basis are in addition to the minimum requirement for the visit.
