School Groups

Please note that we are fully-booked for museum-led visits until after Easter (16 April 2024). There is limited availability for self-led visits this term, please complete an enquiry form to discuss possible visiting dates.

The Museum offers a range of school sessions, please take a look at our school visits page and choose which session you would prefer before completing this form. Please note that the Museum is closed on Mondays, and that Museum-led sessions are only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays before 2pm.

To avoid disappointment we advice submitting this form at least 2 weeks in advance of your desired visit. However we are often fully-booked for visits a term in advance, and so the earlier we receive a request, the better.

There is no charge for our standard school sessions, but donations are welcomed to support the Museum learning programme (recommended donation of £3 per child). To donate please make cheques out to The University of Cambridge.

The Museum of Zoology uses your personal information to keep booking records and to keep in touch with you about your visit to the Museum. We do not share your information with other organisations. For more details on how we handle your personal information, and your rights under data protection legislation please click here

Please provide us with three potential dates when you would like to bring your group. We will try to give you your first choice if possible, and will be in touch with you to confirm your dates, or discuss alternatives if your chosen dates are unavailable. Please note that the Museum is closed on Mondays, and Museum-led sessions are only available on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays.
If the standard options do not meet your requirements, please email umzc@zoo.cam.ac.uk to discuss. Please note workshops outside our standard programme are subject to charge.
School year group or age range of the students visiting
All school groups must be accompanied by adults. We require a minimum ratio of 1 adult per 8 children.
Please note: lunchroom access is via a set of stairs. Lift access is possible when accompanied by a member of staff. Advance notice of the need to use the lift helps us to better accommodate for your visit.
Use of the lunchroom can be timetabled into your day in 30 minute slots. This room has a maximum capacity of 30 students.
