Biography
As Museum Assistant at the University Museum of Zoology Cambridge, I primarily support work with the collections through documentation and conservation projects as well as assist with other work in the stores. Additionally, I support the Visitor Services Team by working at the reception desk on Sundays welcoming visitors to the museum and answering queries.
I have always been fascinated by our relationships with animals through time. During my education (Zoology BSc + Placement Year) at the University of Sheffield I focused on human-wildlife conservation and archaeozoology (the study of animal remains within archaeological sites). I spent my year on placement at the University of Sheffield’s Alfred Denny Museum documenting the collections, supporting tours/events, and increasing the museum's online reach by creating a website, virtual reality experience and documentaries. During this work, I became fascinated by museum collections and the stories we can uncover and share through in-person events as well as digitally.
I am a member of the Natural Sciences Collections Association (NatSCA) and the Museums Association.
