Book your Make Zoo and Mend tickets here.
Why buy new clothes when old clothes can look at good as new? Come along to our sustainable clothes & textiles event, where we will have expert craft people on hand to share their textiles skills. You'll be able to convert old t-shirts into something new, re-style your current garments plus learn how to repair and mend your favourite items. We are delighted to be working with textile artist Stephanie Norwood and fashion students from The Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts - who will be on hand with all your styling tips!
This is an evening event taking place at the Museum and aimed at an adult audience. Tickets will be £5 (all workshops are included) - pre-booking is required.
All materials are included in the ticket price - all you need to do is bring a tote bag if you would like to do the tote bag rescue!
Workshops on the night include:
Tote Bag Rescue – bring in your old tote bag and re-style it with prints from the Museum collection
Cushion & Scarf making – make a cushion cover or a scarf to take home (whilst materials last)
Embroidery - learn techniques to embellish your clothes with embroidery
Darning workshop – fix your old favourites
Make a corsage - watch as fashion students demonstrate knitting machines and make you a corsage to take home
Style Doctor – do you have a favourite item that needs a re-style? Fashion students are on hand to re-imagine your garments
