Join our Curator of Insects Dr Ed Turner and learn how to survey and identify insects. Take a peak behind the scenes to see some of the amazing insects in the collections of the Museum not on public display.

Using specimens housed within the Museum of Zoology, this workshop will introduce participants to the huge diversity of insect life. We will discuss why there are so many different species of insects, how to go about identifying different insect groups, the role that insects play in supporting healthy functioning ecosystems worldwide, and the current decline in insects that is taking place worldwide. The day will consist of talks, practical sessions, and a chance to see some of the million insect specimens housed in the Museum that are not on public display.
