Zoology Live! Festival

Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June 2018

To celebrate the Museum opening we are having a whole weekend of free talks, activities, wildlife workshops, live animal displays and much much more!

Saturday 23 June.......

Come and see live insects in the Whale Hall, meet animals from Shepreth Wildlife Park and see the wonderful birds of prey from The Raptor Foundation. Join our Cambridge Urban Safari for tours with wildlife experts. Learn about the animals of Cambridge and how to identify them. Find out how to make your gardens and open spaces a home for wildlife. Discover the amazing world of animals with expert talks ranging from 'Darwin, the man behind the beard' to 'How animals develop'.

Join the University Botanic Garden, Whipple Museum of the History of Science and Darwin Correspondence Project for hands on activities inspired by animals. Learn about the fascinating behaviour of cuckoos from Professor Nick Davies, discover the plight of endangered animals with children's author Catherine Barr and learn how to draw a pangolin with illustrator Anne Wilson.

Join us after hours for a relaxed look at the galleries, with drinks, music and more from 8pm to 10pm

Sunday 24 June.........

Enjoy performances and talks from a range of artists about their creative response to the Museum's collections. Bring your sketchbook and pencil and be inspired by our collections. Artists will be available throughout the day to help and guide you. Join the Fitzwilliam Museum, Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the Whipple Museum of the History of Science for craft activities all inspired by animals.
